Society of Sisters of the Holy Cross established their mission at Kamagere, Kollegal taluk, Chamarajanagar District, Mysore Diocese in the year 1970 with the charism of their Founders  Fr.Theodosius Florentini and Mother Bernarda Heigmgartner, a Swiss monk and a Swiss Nun. They carried out the mission of Jesus through Health care both at Hospital and community. During the year 1997, a School of Nursing was established with Government order in order to give a chance for rural girls to become professional Nurses and improve standards of nursing care at hospitals through quality education. We have grown to be one among the best hospital and nursing institution in the Chamarajanagar District and Karnataka state under the management of Holy Cross Sisters at Central Indian province.

 Since its inception, the Nursing School has trained hundreds of nurses whose outstanding skills and competence have won praises not only in India but in several countries abroad. The unique characteristics of the training imparted in this institution is that it seeks to imbue the Nurses with compassionate love of Jesus for the sick and the suffering and enabling them to be outstanding in human qualities.

School is equipped with qualified and competent teachers, good physical infrastructure, Library and most importantly, students get opportunity for clinical learning in parent hospital. School has excellent, efficient and highly motivated faculty who plan meticulously curricular and co-curricular activities for the students. Nursing students do have benefit of contributions from interdisciplinary teaching faculty and ample opportunity for extra- curricular activities as our School has got facilities for the same. We are proud to say that all our alumni’s are on job in various hospitals and nursing institutes in India and abroad.

Sr.Lucy John the eminent person is the Founding principal of both School of Nursing and College of Nursing.
